Mixed Feelings

It is with great pleasure that we are now able to present the return of Herakut, the internationally acclaimed artist duo from Germany, who will premiere their upcoming solo show 'Mixed Feelings' at the gallery.
Since 2004, Hera and Akut have worked together on various global art projects making hundreds of murals around the world besides being represented at many decisive art galleries.
In Aalborg, the duo also did a magnificent 50 m long mural in 2018 for the Out on the Open mural project of KIRK Gallery.

In a narrative imagery, the work of Herakut takes shape in a very unique expression where Hera's sensuous but rough strokes define the shape and proportion of the artworks, while Akut adds the photorealistic details. With the show being a mix of collaboration and solo pieces, you’ll also be able to find these extravagant features performed separately.

Bridging the gap between the two methods, the duo has accomplished a completely distinctive expression known worldwide.
In an imaginary world, the characters in Herakut’s works often appear in a context of social fractions and collective constraints incorporated in quotes telling about love and the complexity of the relations between people.
Hence, the degree of contrasts is endless where the dream world of a child often attribute features from animals.
Equally, their gallery pieces, installations and canvases are characterized by their narrative style and their ability to lead the viewer into imaginary worlds.
