Sabotaje al Montaje | ‘Dansen’

In collaboration with the Diversity Committee, Himmerland Housing Association, and the Integration Council, a new beautiful mural has raised downtown Aalborg, marking the launch of the twelfth year of KIRK Gallery’s mural project ‘Out in the Open’.
With Tobias Bøgeskov Eriksen, chairman of the Diversity Committee, as the driving force, a new large-scale mural celebrating diversity has been successfully brought to life — adding yet another artwork by prominent international artists to the urban landscape of Aalborg.
With diversity as the theme of the project, Spanish artist Sabotaje al Montaje has portrayed a dancing couple in the piece he calls ‘The Dance’.

About the work the artist tells the following:

A "Dance for Diversity" is a cultural and social event that celebrates the union of cultures and human expressions.
It is an opportunity to promote inclusion, respect, and acceptance of all differences through music, dance, and coexistence.
This type of event seeks to raise awareness about the importance of valuing diversity as a source of enrichment for the community and of equality, solidarity, and unity among all people.

It has been fantastic to witness the excitement of the many residents in ‘Comfort House’, where the mural has been created, and to see how clearly they saw themselves in the artwork.
The help from the citizens and all organizers has been amazing.

Big thanks to all parties involved including Loxam, Plus Malergrossisten, Kompas Hotel og Cafe Ulla Terkelsen London.
