SEPE

‘NOTHING As The Ideal’

After meeting the first time 12 years ago making one OF the first murals of the ’Out in the Open’ mural project, it is wonderful to have SEPE back for his first solo show in Denmark.

A lot has happened since then, not least a significant development on canvas leaning more and more against classical painting, bridging the gap between the urban movements and classical painting.

With this we’ll find the new series of paintings juxtaposing these different directions of work in 11 new paintings.

About the show Sepe tells the following:

“We are witnesses and direct participants in a crucial time here on Earth. A time rife with dynamic changes and processes affecting each of us.

In my latest series of paintings, my attention is focused on ‘every day man’ in this very context. I am fascinated by how each of us tries to navigate a rapidly transforming reality. How we adapt to change. Search for solutions, for our true identity. Create or deconstruct it. Destroy and rebuild it. Communicate or Isolate. All the roles we assume, the costumes we don, try on, and abandon. The poses and facades of the ego we adopt to protect our fragile and vulnerable core - our true nature.”
