Falk Lehmann better know as Akut (Herakut), was born in Schmalkalden, Germany in 1977. He lives and works in Berlin.

Akut is a German street artist and photographer and has studied Visual Communication/Graphic Design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
He was one of the first to bless his city with graffiti, dating all the way back to the early 90’s where his works shared a different and unique moniker than the graffiti found in any other major city across the globe. Instead of tagging and lettering, he focused his works upon photo-realism. Visually, his works combines the photorealistic with a touch of graffiti, thereby giving street art a new voice in the established art world.

With a background in Communication and Graphic Design, Akut also creates impactful work as a photographer. His series of photos depicts various social issues that people are confronted with everyday, from the many people in Hawaii made homeless, due to the rising price of housing in America, to Nepalese child labourers.

The exhibition, SEEKING UTOPIA

Inhumanity seems to rise and political power shifts in a direction one would have never have expected. Our new reality houses fear from climate change and many other realities on every end approached politically in many opposite directions. We invented monumental buildings, airplanes and boats while seeking some kind of utopia, but fail in being human beings.

When the world outside gets too dark it’s time to focus on our basic needs.
A little caress can have a healing effects and is our physical and mental connections to others. The simple basic instinct that satisfies the troubled mind.

SEEKING UTOPIA, portraits the demanders and dreamers with their realistic imagination of a world in which human rights are truly and universally inherent to every human being, regardless of nationality, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status.
