Rumænske Cristian Gabriel Lãpusan (f. 1976), bor og arbejder i Cluj-Napoca, Rumænien.
Cristians kunstneriske tilgang problematiserer en verden, hvor tingene udfolder sig i kontrasterende handlingers logik, hvor den bevægelige krop låser op for fysiske energier, som ord ikke kan afsløre. I en nutidig kontekst, med mange blandede følelser og samtidens angst, søger individet at genkende og redefinere sin egen kropslighed. Kroppen kortlægger regenerativt sine traumer eller sårbarheder og har således kapaciteten til at genopbygge sine dybe forbindelser.
Cristian forsøger derfor at guide beskueren til at analysere og debattere et meget aktuelt, følsomt og udfordrende tema gennem menneskets sårbarhed og samtidig dets iboende refleksive karakter – det skrøbelige og uadskillelige forhold mellem mennesket og dets natur.
Det er de parametre, hvori en dialog mellem de to verdener/entiteter indledes, ved hjælp af realistiske repræsentationer af menneskelige figurer, et udtryk fra nærhed (venner/familie). Cristian afbilder også handlinger, der synliggør umiddelbare bekymringer eller historier, hvor nutiden varsler en fremtidig og på samme tid minder om en tidligere tid.
Cristian arbejder ved siden af sit kunstneriske virke som PhD Lecturer ved Department of Painting at UAD Cluj-Napoca.
