Guy Denning er en selvlært engelsk samtidskunstner og maler, bosat i Frankrig. Han er grundlæggeren af gruppen Neomodern og en del af den urbane kunstscene i Bristol.
Denning arbejder ikke udelukkende ud fra faste motiver eller koncepter. Han anvender blandt andet observationer og fotografiske forlæg som udgangspunkt for sine malerier og tegninger. Hans arbejde er ofte præget af menneskeskildringer og historiske, sociale og politiske temaer.
I februar 2008 blev to af Dennings værker solgt på Bonhams’ auktion over urban kunst, hvilket vidner om hans stigende anerkendelse på kunstmarkedet.
I 2011 og 2012 præsenterede Denning en række internationale udstillinger med værker inspireret af Dante Alighieris Den guddommelige komedie. I disse malerier anvendte han Dantes litterære og symbolske univers til blandt andet at undersøge sociale og politiske problemer i det moderne Storbritannien.
I 2013 blev Denning inviteret til at deltage i det omfattende parisiske urban art-projekt Tower 13, hvor en række internationale kunstnere bidrog med værker.To år senere, i 2015, deltog han i en UNESCO-præsentation i forbindelse med COP21-klimakonferencen. Her talte han om forholdet mellem kunstnerisk aktivisme og offentlighedens bevidsthed om klimaforandringer.
Et af Dennings markante projekter fandt sted i 2018 i forbindelse med 100-årsdagen for våbenstilstanden, der afsluttede Første Verdenskrig. Han opsatte 112 tegninger i naturlig størrelse af franske soldater fra Første Verdenskrig på murene i den franske landsby La Feuillee. Projektet fungerede som en kunstnerisk mindehøjtidelighed og havde til formål at markere de menneskelige tab og den historiske betydning, som krigen havde haft for landsbyen.
Dennings kunstneriske praksis er således tæt forbundet med historiske og samfundsmæssige problemstillinger. Krig, politiske konflikter, menneskelige erfaringer og sociale forandringer går igen som centrale temaer, samtidig med at han kombinerer traditionelle tegne- og maleteknikker med referencer til fotografi og urban kunst. Hans position som selvlært kunstner og hans arbejde på tværs af forskellige kunstneriske miljøer placerer ham i et felt mellem den etablerede samtidskunst og den urbane kunstscene.
