Daniel Kalinski aka CHAZME is a Polish painter, illustrator, architect and street artist born in 1980 in Laufen, Switzerland. In 2008, the artist was successfully trained in architecture and urbanism from the Warsaw University of Technology. His street art is often created in collaboration with other artists such as SEPE and NAWER.
In CHAZME's terminology, we meet his characters as either completely absent or as small, clueless beings without influence over time.
The large monumental buildings and the high-rise the walls become the decisive elements of the composition of his works, where the human figures are unsuspecting and apathetic.
CHAZME often designs urbanized structures out of defined geometric areas. These dystopian compositions are comments and critique of city planning and architecture that passers-by are invited to reflect on and perhaps even oppose. At a visual level, they are always composed perfectly balanced and reflect the pattern of our modern skyscraper architecture.
Although his studio work is more figurative, it still displays the artist's unique aesthetics.
CHAZME's study work ranges from canvas to collage. Although his paintings are more figurative, they still hold the strong assembly aesthetics that are unique to CHAZME's work. His work has been featured in exhibitions in Paris, San Francisco, Bern, Minsk and Düsseldorf to name a few. CHAZME's street art pieces can be seen on the walls of many cities like Prague, Berlin, Glasgow, among many others.
