MADS THOMSEN

Mads Thomsen (b. 1979) is educated from the Royal Danish Academy of Arts in 2011. When Mads Thomsen in 2011 finished his final project at the academy it became the culmination on a month long sailing with the Danish coaster Vega, where he took work as a chef. The result of this work is a series of linocuts that are made as a visual logbook trying to capture the instant mood on the ship. He has built a huge printing press to print his very large lino cuts. His motivation strives from film noir to science fiction and a dark dystopic cartoon tradition. In addition he is occupied with scientific phenomena and theories about beign in several dimensions at the same time.
